Mediation is a confidential, cooperative, and efficient process designed to transform and reduce conflict. When conflict is reduced people are more likely to resolve their disputes without the need for costly litigation.  More importantly the participants remain in control of the decision-making process. A neutral facilitator such as a mediator can provide guidance and support to assist in overcoming any roadblock during the mediation sessions which often allows participants to resolve their issues (for pre- and post-filed litigation) or in some post-filed litigation matters may result in an agreement to narrow any issues that the parties will litigate.
